Analysis of 2009's Grass Pollen Season
I have been asked enough times to write about 2009's grass pollen season. In severity, it was mild. In duration, it was average. Comment: the X factor was the weather. Rainfall has been intermittant and heavy during the peak weeks. Result: grass pollen has been produced, but less than average due to cooler than average temperatures, plus rain clears pollen from large volumes of air. While I'm sad about the pollen counts, I'm very happy about potentially ending our drought. Actually, our rainfall to date is still BELOW historical averages. Let it rain more. The grass pollen season slowly ends during the end of June.
