Photos of asthma medications

Here are photos of some available asthma medications (for nebulizers, pill, hand-held metered-dose inhalers). Not pills included: theophylline (Theo-Dur, Theo-24, Uniphyll), albuterol, zileutin (Zyflo), prednisone (Deltasone), methylprednisolone (Medrol), dexamethasone (Decadron). Inhalers that use CFC propellents are not included (like albuterol-CFC mdi), because they will no longer be able on 1/1/09.

One other point, if your current asthma medications are not working, some times the solution to getting control and relief is to switch medications. Here, you can see all of your choices. Last are two forms of commonly prescribed oral steroids: Medrol Dose Pack and Orapred orally-dissolving tablets.

If you have questions, ask your doctor.
