FDA's warning on Zicam products

On June 16, 2009, the FDA issued a warning to consumers to discard three types of intra-nasal Zicam products. The warning does not apply to oral Zicam products. Over 130 cases of loss of smell have been reported in association with these products. The loss may be either temporary or permanent. Since smell comprises 90% of taste, most of these people would have had much more difficulty tasting food. For me, while not life-threatening, this would definitely not be good.
