Practice Parameters for Diagnosis and Management of Sinusitis

Today, I would like to highlight the Joint Task Force's Instant Reference (IR) Practice Parameters for Diagnosis and Management of Sinusitis. There are others: Anaphylaxis (IR), Asthma, Dermatitis - Atopic, Dermatitis - Contact, Drug Allergy, Food Allergy, Immunodeficiency, Immunotherapy (IR), Insect stinging (IR), Rhinitis - Allergic (IR), Testing - Diagnostic (IR), Urticaria/Angioedema. The links can be found on the left column under the heading "Links to Practice Parameters" and here.

For sinusitis, the sections are:
define sinusitis, initial evaluation of a patient with symptoms, is it acute sinusitis?, should another diagnosis be considered?, initial treatment of acute sinusitis, additional treatment and evaluation for acute sinusitis poorly responsive to initial therapy, and treatment of refractory, chronic and/or recurrent sinusitis. This is the backbone of my evaluation and treatment of sinus diseases for my patients. For those that have seen me, they should recognize their evaluation and treatment plan.

If you have questions about your sinus problems, ask your doctor...
